Is it possible to experience orgasm in the whole body and not just in the genitals? Or is it just a tantric legend?
All the work in Tantra is focused on bringing us back to our true nature and our true nature is in fact the ability to enjoy the entire existence. Tantra suggests very simple tools to free you from all those burdens that prevent you from being natural and therefore also orgasmic.
Radha speaks about it:
“When we become adults, we think to be free and wild, to be able to do whatever we want and we like. However there’s something that we miss. In order to be truly free and wild we need a very valuable quality: totality.
When I speak about totality I don’t mean our ability to “risk”, we are used to jump into very wild adventures like climbing mountains, bungee jumping and other such things. When I speak about totality what I would like to focus on is that deep connection with our body and its vital energy. The lack of connection with the body is what even prevents us from understanding the “orgasmic body”. In practical terms: on the one hand, women who have done a lot of research on how to have orgasms and the main theme for a woman is the imperative to have an orgasm. On the other hand, for most men the themes related to orgasm are usually premature ejaculation and therefore not being able to satisfy the woman, or the difficulty in having to get enough stimulation to achieve an erection or performance anxiety that makes sex more of a job than a pleasure.
The orgasmic body has something to do with genitals too but it’s not only connected to them. I’m talking about an orgasmic experience that starts from sex and then it spreads in the whole body. It’s an experience where we begin to lose the perception of our boundaries. It could be described as a cosmic experience, an explosion. Those seem huge words but it’s a reality. It’s an experience that can provide us a deep sense of expansion and Tantra means “method for expansion”. I could say a lot about methods and techniques but what’s important to understand is that our experience of sex and orgasm is very small and, although beautiful, usually it remains stuck in the lower part of our body and in our genitals. Women could have easily experienced an expanded orgasm and even in this case it’s not certain that it could be easily repeated.
The expansion I’m talking about it’s connected to many things and, even if we don’t want to go in a spiritual direction, we can think about something very practical as the awareness of our own breath in sex. Through breath, we have a bigger opportunity to connect to our own body and to expand in it.
The body has an enormous ability to be rgasmic and we use just a little part of it. When we move it consciously, when we practice specific breath techniques, when we wildly dance or practice tantra meditations, what we do is to awaken this natural ability that we all have.” Radha.
